Im a complete DIY novice but i want to make some wider steps in this retaining wall as part of a bigger garden project.
To give some background, there used to be 3 narrow steps in place (2 are still in place). My idea is to make the step area wider and you can see that ive already knocked out some of the brickwork to get the desired opening.
Im now at a point where im struggling to see what is best. Do i hollow out the area and start new with building blocks that ive purchased?
My other concern is that im laying paving on the top level of the garden so im worried my top step will be too high or low.
Any advice would be great.
I want to render the wall or clad it in the near future.
