Our electric oven's fan sometimes sticks, or takes a while to spin up...

I would normally use WD40 to free bearings up, but given it's flammable is it ok to use (in an oven) after waiting a while or use something else?

the spindle bearing probably has a seal to (try to) keep burnt fat particles out, so I expect you will have to remove and dismantle it to clean and lubricate the bearing.

I suspect the warmth frees up the grease that has got in, hence why it spins after a while. Not sure why it sometimes stops again though.

I can see 3 screws behind the fan, but the back panel is one piece. I assume I'll have to take that off to get to the motor?

don't know, you haven't said what sort it is.

On the Bosch Appliance Parts Sales website, they have exploded diagrams which give a clue on how to take things apart, maybe your manufacturer has something similar.

It's a cannon. The diagram for this model shows a flap on the back relative to where the motor should be, but the back on ours doesn't have the flap.

If its not to late, switch off at master switch before you dig about.

Don't worry, its completely disconnected!
