Sticky paint.

I have repainted all the internal doors with a water based eggshell and in the areas where you put your hands it has become sticky, also where the door meets the door stops it also seems to be sticking and when the door is opened it makes a' sticking' sound.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause, any pro advice would be most useful

how did you clean and prepare the surface before painting?

how was it treated before?

We don't know the orginal surface was,one thing for sure the whole lot has to come off some thing has caused a reaction to eggshell paint .80% preperation 20% painting.

was it paint, varnish or wax?

what method and materials did you use to clean and prep?
