Hi,

I have a kitchen tap with a lever similar to the picture here:

The problem is, when you turn it on, rather than smoothly moving from a trickle to full power, it goes up in jerky movements, so it's easy to soak yourself. Is this likely to be something which can be easily resolved?

Thanks

How old is that tap? Was it always like that?

If the tap is faulty then I'd replace or repair it. Otherwise, a compromise would be to install a valve in the supply to the tap (if there isn't already one there), and partially close the valve to reduce the flow. This valve should be a stop cock (screw down type), rather ball-o-fix.

It's about a year old and has always been like it.
