The front of my house is covered in stone cladding - I'm sure this was the only reason we could afford it!

I would ideally like to have it removed but have been advised by a number of people that this is very expensive. I am also considering painting over it. Do others think this is a good idea/have any other suggestions as to how to make it look better?!

Also does anyone have any experience of painting over stone cladding? If so what paints did you use?

Thanks for your help!

painting over it would make it look more of an eyesore then what it proberly is(no offence!)you can remove it your self bit by bit with a hammer and chisel, however the brick work underneather might not be great so it may need rendering and then painting afterwards. Long slow job to take it of yourself but it wont cost anything

agree with paul..

get a hamer and bolster and strip it carefully... your may be lucky and the brick work beneath may be good enough to paint.
