Stopping a washing machine water outlet

I'm sorting out my brother's house so he can rent it out.

It has a dishwasher that's piped in BUT, it's on the same split water supply for a washing machine.

There isn't a washing machine because this will not come with the house.

So, if I turn the water on for the dishwasher then it comes pouring out the washing machine outlet.

Is there a way to easily block the washing machine outlet? I'd really like to use the dishwasher!

Show us a picture of where the water comes out. It sounds like you're describing a Y connector in an cold feed but it would be nice to make sure

Sorry. I figured it out myself by just removing the splitter and attaching just the dishwasher straight to the supply.
