Storing Danish Oil.

I've got a half-full can of DO which has formed a solid skin. I'd like to give it a seriously good shake up and strain it into a smaller container.

Would a plastic bottle be OK, or will it eat its way to freedom, or absorb plasticiser and become damaged?

As it does contain petroleum distillates, I think I'd store it in a metal container BAS. The only problem I have with Danish Oil, is getting the top of the damn tin. I have a couple of tins of Danish Oil and a tin of Coloron Antique Oil. all part used. I need a pair of grips to even try turning the screw on lid.

Always wipe the lid before closing to avoid sticking and store upside down then the skin will always be on the bottom.
