Hello,
Over the last few weeks I have noticed an odd gurgling, fizzing, shooshing noise comming from what seems to be inside my hot water cylinder tank. I'd describe it as the noise of a small wave receding on a pebble beach.
The central heating system is working perfectly, but the noise is a little worrying.
I have a Potterton Profile 80(or 800, know it's an 8 though) boiler. Two 2 port valves (1 for CH 1 for HW), a honeywell pump and a potterton EP2001 control panel.
It is a sealed system, and the enclosed red header tank in the loft is showing 1 bar of pressure.
There is a small radiator type bleed valve located between the pump and the motorized valve for the hot water. I keep bleeding this and seem to get a tiny amount of air every day, but the noise persists.
Can anyone suggest a simple way of checking there is no air in the heating pipes inside my water cylinder ? I'm guessing that's what the noise is. What else might it be?
Sorry for the long post, but wanted to put as much information as I thought would be useful.
Thanks for taking the time to read it and thank you in advance for your help.
