Strap on boss adapters not going all the way in!?!

Should have read ‘don’t’ fit all the way in
Normally the first part is for the rubber bush that fits upto the first ring then you shove the pipe through up to the second ring.
Is that a 50mm solvent weld boss adapter that you are gluing in? I.E you will then be solvent welding a pipe in there?
