Hi

I think I have everyting working except for the strobe.

On my texecom system am using the odyssey x-w bell box. I noticed normally the strobe alternates between the led on left and the led on the right.
Hoever when I try testing the strobe light using the test options in engineer mode, it doesn't act any different. I would expect it to flash both leds quickly.

The siren works when i test it hence that means the bell box is talking to the panel. I can also set athe alarm just fine and according to the panel, the zone for the wirless bell box is secure. Also the bell box hasn't been put into hold off mode.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Those two 'pulsing' lights are known as comfort LED's, to show that the external sounder is 'live'.
The strobe part is much more pronounced and brighter, it should flash approximately once a second when testing.

unless am blind I see no strobing and you say it's brighter so I don't see how I can miss it. OK thanks guys mayb the bell box is faulty. I can't see any othr reason.

Whilst its not impossible for it to be faulty it isn't a known issue so would be very surprised unless its been physically damaged.

The comfort LEDS flash, depending on the status, ie tamper engineers hold off etc etc.

How are you testing the strobe 9keypad wintex keypad and how long for?
Just cant think how long it is before the strobe starts flashing when activating the test.

If it was a hardwired bell I would be checking the strobe trigger but as its wireless that doesn't apply.

I am using the test strobe option in the enginneer utils option using the wireless keypad. I enabled the test strobe option 2 mins ago and i still can't see the strobe. Its night time so it shud be ovious. But the keypad clearly responds

Yeah google suggested I check the output but it is a wireless bell box.

I will buy the offical usb cable. I can download the software onto my laptop.
You mean I should test it from wintex? How do I do this?

you not got a smart com? you can use that with wintex or pay for a cloud scription and you can test via that built in keypad, I prefer wintex but thats me.

you can use the online keypad, I don't know what your doing exactly, however if we assume you were going through the motions correctly it could be the wireless keypad not getting through to the panel. that would only normally happen if signal strength is low or its having to hop.

A problem with most wireless keypads is they aren't very responsive as rule so its hard to know if something has been sent or not, unless you actually see it working as expected.

Sorry I didn't know i can use the smartcom with wintex. I used the online keypad within wintex, it still didn't activate.
According to wintex the strobe output has been activated.

I am sad now.

if its faulty and under warranty it can be returned via the place it was purchased from.

If you cant see it maybe worth getting on the bench, after all you will have to take it down to send it back or swap it out.

as a last resort you could delete it off and relearn it back on, jut in case you inadvertently changed a zone setting for the bellbox as deleting it off coming out of engineering and in back in and relearning back on will set the devices settings to the factory default ones.

other than that call texecom tomorrow when they open, there maybe something that's been missed but struggling to see how as the default settings are correct when learned on and you only need to assign areas if anything at all.
