have tried wd40 and as much brute pressure as im comfortable with( am afraid i might do damage!) any other ideas at the moment the only heat i have is in the hall and thats not much help! :?:

I doubt your problem is with the lockshield valve.
Which valve are you on about?

have used adjustable and have manage to get all radiators going except unfortunately the sitting room and the bathroom and unfortunately much as you doubt it it is the locking sheild valve bled them yesterday for the first time since i moved in 4 years ago cos i could only afford to get the oil last week used the valve on the right hand side to switch them on bled them and they warmed up slightly at the time but when i put on the heating this afternoon i had one scalding radiator in the hall everywhere else stone cold did some research eventualy got the locking valves open on the other radiators but cant get an angle or proper grip on the last 2 anything else i could try?

Are you trying to tell me somebody closed all the lockshields?
There is no such thing as THE lockshield, every rad has one, if not 2.

every single one except the one in the hall which was on full blast

thanks that really helps! if i end up having to replace those valves ill scream my little lungs out!

managed to get the open with a 4 way utility key thanks for your help anyway but if anyone ever asks advice about radiators tell them never place then near a door or a corner its not worth the grief!
