Hi all,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to open a jammed upvc window?

I have check the spindle and handle which works, but it does not seem to engage the bolts to allow the window to open.

thank you in advance!

Engage as in don’t move, or just don’t make the keepers?

Edit: so it won’t open?

Thanks @CBW the bolts from the lock are stuck in the fixings so the window does not open.

I have had a look at the window on the other side and it seems that there are two bolts that engage with the fixings on the frame to secure the window.

Yep just re-read, it’s likely to be the mechanism, if so, You’ll need a new one, but it’ll be difficult to remove the existing one. Iirc you have to force it open, but only see it done a handful of times (I work with joiners who have to do it). Unless a pro can give you a better solution.
