Can someone advise me if the space inside a stud wall, directly behind a shower/bath is a 'zone' for electrical purposes ?

A vapour barrier then Hardie Backer board, then tiles will enclose the space on the bathroom side, 12mm plasterboard the other side (facing hall).

Ok thanks - yes, sorry should have said: Section 701 of the Wiring Regulations – Locations containing a bath or shower.
