Stud wall construction!

Just a suggestion but open to debate!!

If you have to construct a stud wall why not double skin it with 9mm boards.

It makes the wall alot more solid (impossible for the kids to put their foot through it whilst practising football inside :evil: ) and have the added bonus of coming up 2mm narrower than a standard door lining kit - perfect for skimming.
 
How does 12.5 mm beat 19 mm for fire resistance? Anway, if it were my stud wall I'd go with 12+9, or 2x12s
 
New build normally go for 2 layers of 12.5mm for externals and 15mm for internals.
