Stud wall spacing of uprights - Help

Simple question, should the upright beams be spaced by 600mm or 400mm?

400mm or 450mm for walls. 600mm is an option but I would not recommend it.

So do a lot of roof trusses but a wall is not a ceiling.

thanks, do you any idea if there are any cost efficient stud wall thermal insulators as celotex is a little out of my price range, its to convert half a double garage in to a room?

Celotex does seem expensive but is excellent at what it does. You can save money if you are prepared to shop around.

Unfortunately the alternative to celotex is rather bulky.

whats the bulky alternative? and will it fit in a stud wall made of 38mm x 90 mm timber?
