Hello.
Splitting a double garage with a metal stud wall.
The plan was to just follow the joist.
So, I put some noggins on for lateral stability and ran out of screws.
Popped over to ScrewFix and in a moment of madness decided to treat myself to a laser level...be careful what you wish for...what do I do now ?

1. Run the stud along the joist as planned even though not square ?

2. Add further noggins and attached metal U stud to noggins and have a square wall ?

Wish I had bought the level earlier...

Thanks

Phil

You need to check the walls for square and parallel, and decide how the new wall is to sit relative to them. Ignore the trusses.

Are you sure you have the laser set at 90 deg to the outside wall
Hi CrossThread....your experience/intuition is bang on !

Serves me right for assuming the worse....measured and joist is certainly parallel to wall.

Thanks.
