I am designing a timber framed studio and wondered if any person on this site whom has experience of these buildings could give me a few pointers on my design.
I intend to use a 6x2 C16 joists at 400 cc then for the walls 4x2 C16 again at 400 cc then 5x2 C16 for the roof which will receive OSB then EPDM covering.
The walls I imagine will go like this:
12mm plasterboard on C16 4x2 insulated with 100mm Celotex or 100mm sheeps wool then 12mm ply a vapour control barrier 2x1tile button then Cedar cladding.
I intend to use 100mm celotex in the floor and roof also, but feel that this is not enough insulation. The building is 2.5 wide by 5.0mtrs long and 2.5mtrs high.
Does the roof which is flat need to be vented?
Is the insulation enough?
Do I need to put building paper on the inside of the stud walls?
Is it ply then membrane or membrane then ply?
I feel like a bit of a tit asking about the membrane cos I've done timber framing before but just can't remember.
Thank you in advance.
