Softus hope you dont mind me adding another bus puzzle to this thread.

It's been done here before but long enough ago hopefully to intrigue a few of the newcomers.

It goes like this...

A bus leaves the depot empty bar the driver who doesn't count in this puzzle

At the first stop 5 people get on
the next stop 7 people get on and 2 get off
next stop 4 people get on and 1 gets off
next stop 6 get on and 0 get off
next stop 3 get off and 2 get on
final stop 10 get off
the bus pulls into the depot but there is not a single person onboard.
those that know the answer please hold back for others to reply.

No objection. The more, the merrier.

I haven't seen this one before, and I don't know the answer, but I have an answer. Can I post that one?

8 people got off between the sixth stop and the final stop.

nope ;) only what was typed occurred, hope it goes for a while longer before someone comes up with the answer

There is another answer!!!

There is a difference of 8 between the "get-ons" and the "get offs".

If you add up "6 get on" and "2 get on", this equals 8 too.

They are not necessarily people, so you could have (for arguments sake) 8 dogs getting on.

Thus, there would be "not a single person on board" when the bus reaches the depot.

Ta-dah!

That sounds a bit desperate Simon. Surely my 'seventh stop' idea was more credible.

Ah but would the dogs be accompanied by Boys as the Cats were accompanied by Girls in the previous puzzle ;)
