Sub base for slab area with a cabin on it?

Hi all,

I'm looking at slabbing an area of my garden and then sticking a cabin on top.

I have a large amount of old slabs and some other rubble/hardcore. If i smash up all the old slabs, will this be a suitable sub base for the slabs?

Lol, well the i was under the impression the sub base needed to be of a certain (small) size? The existing slabs i was going to break are also not level so wasn't sure how this would affect it?
