Hi,
I am looking to install a solid bamboo floor in my living room and hallway, I have ripped up part of the old floor and was going to use a latex self levelling compound as the floor is not completely level. I was then going to glue the bamboo onto the newly levelled floor.
However.... I have just had my builder round to quote some other work and asked his advice on the condition of the floor. He said that I couldn't latex the floor as the floor has glue or something that would have been used to glue down vinyl. I have attached some pictures to show you.
I can't have a floating floor as the wife wants a continuous flow from the living room and a clic clac type wood will cause me problems getting through the door way under the door frame.
I am prepare to put down an 18mm plywood onto this subfloor and secret nail onto that but it has been suggested that it not be a good idea. I am not sure why though as this would be the process if the subfloor is floorboards.
Any advice would be much appreciated
