Hi there,

I don't normally post on the forums unless I can work it out myself. I am puzzled with the large pile of sawdust (or similar, feels like very dried wood shavings) its just that i was doing a routine inspection of my subfloor just in case there were any issues underground. This suspiciously looks like woodworm type of thing, its just that what i am seeing from the joists directly above doesn't tie in with what's lying on the ground. i.e there is a large amount of wood dust on the ground. It is possible that it could be waste left over from builders way back but i was just wondering if i am missing something. My house (1934) does have some damp issues My first post, would be extremely grateful for any comments. Thank you very much

Builders waste. Woodworm waste / frass is like dust, plus you'd see exit holes in the joists.

Are the joists / floorboards original? That green looks like pressure treatment? My 20's floors and joists look darker and nore age.

The copper piping looks newer.Guessing there's been a rewire at some point and central heating.

Relax
