Here is the problem.

Four walls of various materials (bonding, sand & cement and painted plaster) due to years of repairs. I am going to skim over as the walls are sound and do not really warrant overboarding. I was planning to PVA the walls to get uniform suction but was not sure exactly what mix to use or how many coats.

I was going to give each wall a coat of 70/30 Water / PVA and allow to dry then a second similar coat just prior to skimming as I was told by a plasterer to make sure that the wall is tacky before it is plastered.

Is this the correct method or would I be better with a different approach?

Any help would be most appreciated.

you could use bond it instead of pva its more expensive but will give you a more universal suction to the walls ;)

Many thanks again Jbonding for your help.

I have not used bond-it so was not aware of it. Is it a specific plaster pre-treatment?
