I've skimmed over plasterboard and on cement render but have not plastered over Bonding before. Advice please. Do I let the Bonding dry out before applying a finish coat or do I apply a finish coat when the Bonding has set but still wet? If left until dry/cured do I PVA before applying a finish coat to control suction?

regards,

no pva.

after you have ruled it off flat, the bonding needs to be rubbed up with a "wood" float (now made from plastic).

later on, push a nail through a corner of the float and rub up the bonding again scribbling some scratches a couple of millimeters into the plaster surface. this will help key the skim.

dont let the bonding dry out too mutch, but it has to be set before you skim. minimum 5 hours for a regular 12mm coat. it is best to apply bonding or browning in two coats.

the skimming will have to be applied in two coats also.
