OK, the boiler needs a standard service, my oil guy will do this some time in the summer. I have had a motorised valve micro switch stick, so either change micro switch or the valve head, so far so good.
But the kitchen radiators stayed cold for last year, and now are working fine again, question is why, and is there something which should be done this summer? Since three story and boilers in the flat, even with pump not running, heating would still work, but not as well, so has the stuck micro switch damaged the pump? Why did the heating in the kitchen start to work again? Was it the TRV heads in other rooms turned off and forced more through the kitchen radiator, or was the kitchen TRV head at fault?
I have an eQ-3 TRV head in the kitchen, which has window open detect, this is really door open detect, so the radiator turns off while the back door is open, as we unload shopping from the car, the batteries were renewed, that did not start it working again, I could not see any change other than maybe weather caused other TRV heads to close while boiler still running.
Anyway, reason for question now, is still cold, so can do tests if required, nothing will be done until summer unless heating stops working, this is not the time of the year to play, summer or maybe before, want to swap one TRV head in wife's bedroom from eQ-3 to Wiser, as her bedroom seems coldest used room in the house, so the Wiser TRV head can start the boiler if required, the eQ-3 has not got the ability to be linked.
So the question is are there any tests I can do now, to help work up what is required in the summer?
