I should have my residency card by then. I've already got my receipt of application which is sufficient in the meantime. If it gets too onerous I'll get a French passport.

EHIC - covers emergency treatment in another country only.
Free NHS covers everything. Once you have settled in another country permanently you are not entitled to continue using the UK EHIC (unless its issued under S1)
The Offence is Fraud.

The right to use the NHS is based on residency not citizenship. Nothing stops you moving back to the UK to get treatment.

Nonsense, from your first link:
Getting treatment in the UK
Some former UK residents do not have to pay for NHS treatment when visiting England. This includes UK nationals who started living in the EU before 1 January 2021.
UK nationals living and working in EU countries, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland on or before 31 December 2020 and their family members may be eligible to use NHS services without charge.
If you are a UK national and move to the EU, you should not expect to be able to use NHS services for free when visiting the UK unless you have an EHIC, PRC or S2 to show your healthcare costs are funded by the EU country in which you now live, or another exemption applies.
Some former UK residents do not have to pay for NHS treatment when visiting England. This includes UK war pensioners, UK government employees, and UK nationals living in the EU on or before 31 December 2020.
I think that about covers it.
But thanks for clearing it up for me. I can now use NHS care and facilities with a totally clear conscience. :ROFLMAO:
There is no offence, there is no fraud.

Bobby Dazzler..Dislikes every aspect of the UK...past.present future...but quite Happy to use the NHS..Twists about it...as usual...but more than happy to benefit...From abroad.
You're living in a fantasy land again.
Because I am a UK voter, I am perfectly entitled to criticise the UK government, its history, its propaganda, its politicians, its foreign policies or its inhabitants.
It doesn't make an iota of difference how much you complain about it, misconstrue it or have fantasies about my sentiments, that's just the way it is.
So fantasise away. :ROFLMAO:

I think my question was a little vague. I realise the S1 scheme is still running for expats who retired to EU before end of transition. What about those who retire now. Can they still get an S1?
I believe it still applies. You can still move to EU countries and the same reciprocal arrangements still apply.
You just need a visa or residency card now, which is not automatically approved. You didn't need that before Brexit.

Actually I said
Now if that turns out to be to falsely obtain NHS treatment as UK resident, then yes its ilegal - Fraud act - posted above

you do need to read this - Only you know your circumstances.

That's what I said, 2nd paragraph from your link:

Furthermore, it's not illegal to use an accommodation address. It may be illegal to obtain services on the basis of not paying for them by using an address at which you don't live.
As I'm not doing that, and I'm sure plod would easy track anyone who is, there is no offence, there is no fraud.
It doesn't matter how many times you claim there is, if there isn't there isn't. That's life.
I'm entitled to use NHS services, and thanks for clearing it up for me. It absolutely refutes all those silly and false accusations of me committing fraud.

You will note that I had already applied prior to that post, prior to 30/12/2020 in fact, so I'm entitled.
I just checked, I registered on 2 November 2020.

Where did I accuse you of committing fraud?

You didn't as such but certainly implied it, probably on more than one occasion.
There were others who blatantly accused me of fraud.
Thanks again for finding the legislation that proves I am entitled to use NHS facilities.

Why would everyone accuse someone with multiple identities of fraud????
It’s just normal isn’t it?

It's only fraud if you use alternative identities to obtain goods or services which you do not pay for, or to obtain something to which you're not entitled.
You're not very good at this, are you? :ROFLMAO:
