Would you please advise me on supp bonding in the bathroom.

I know this must be carried out but have been told that it must also be connected to the lighting circuit.
Is this correct and where is this laid down.

Also, if the bathroom floor had just been laid and assume it cost a lot of money, would you bond the rad(assume fitted) proud of the floor so the bonding straps and bonding cable would look pretty unsightly..

Any comments would be appreciated.

It is correct and is laid out in BS7671

No, I would have installed the bonding first (before the floor was laid). Pre planning any job is essential to get it to look good

But wouldn't this then be inaccessable for inspection?

You can sweat a bonding conductor onto a pipe and then it does not have to be accessible.

"sweat"? do you mean solder?

Collins English Dictionary:

sweat n.

17. (tr) to join (pieces of metal) by pressing together and heating.

18. (tr) to heat (solder) until it melts.

Thanks for all that.

Yes, I agree that in an ideal world the bonding of the radiator should be completed before the floor was laid.

However, I was assuming that the floor had already been laid so was now inacessable so my next question is: do electricians actually 'sweat' cables onto pipes to solve this type of problem.

Thanks.

No. We use a bonding clamp to connect a 4mm cable to either the earth of the lighting circuit in the bathroom or possibly the bonding of the hot water tank depending on accesssability.
