Supply for Roller door.

I have just had a quote for a roller door for my back yard wall.
The fitters electrician proposed taking a supply via SWA cable from a ring final circuit in the house. Is this "normal" or would it be better going back to the CU?

I don't see any issue with supplying it from the ring final via an FCU.

Use a double pole FCU so the door can be fully isolated in the event of a fault in the door that takes out the MCB or RCD for the ring. Without double pole an Earth fault in the door could prevent the RCD being reset.
