I find that my CH boiler is actually been fed from a lighting circuit. Its taken from a ceiling rose via an FSU (3A).

Is it allowable for the boiler 240v supply to supplied via a socket and its own plug (fused 3A) or must it be wired in via its own FSU.

Thanks

A boiler is classed as a fixed appliance so it should be connected to fixed wiring so a FCU is fine, either as a spur off the ring or on it's own circuit.

A plug and socket is not classed as fixed wiring so they should only be used for appliances that are not fixed to or connected to the building structure.

Feeding a boiler off a lighting circuit is not ideal but not technically wrong.

As said it should be connected through an FCU fitted with a 3A fuse.
