hello, my suprima has a newish PCB (replaced in 2006) and its red light keep flashing. but it still can fire up when HW is called.

its flue goes vertically to the roof. not sure if any water got in while there was a down pour shower a week ago.

appreciate for any help identify the cause of it and how to fix it thank you very much in advance.

so am I. what could it be, air lock, debris, sensor error, solder broken?

when it fires up, the red light stops flashing and its green light is on.

boiler temperature stat sets to medium (halgf way), HW sets to 60 degree.

yes, I should have said that it is amber light. sorry.

Amber light is saying it has a demand but is up to temp i think.

What are the pipes like heat wise when it is doing this? Is one red hot? Is your pump running correctly?

hot water pipe is quite hot. particular inlet to hot water cylinder. pump seems to be working, hotwater can circulate into hotwater cylinder, but not sure if it is in its best. pump is set to speed 3.

LED Indication for Replacement Kit pcb 5111603

Status LED

Mains Off Off = yes

Mains On Continuously Orange = yes
(no external call for heat)

External Call for Heat Flashing Orange = yes (flashing quickly)
(temperature Control Set to Off)

Air proving & ignition Flashing Orange/Green = yes (during the burner starts up)

Burner On Continuously Green = yes

Boiler Temperature Control Satisfied Flashing Green = yes ( when shutting down)

Lockout Flashing Red or Continuously Red = yes (flashing one per second)

thanks for your explaination. I did a test just now.

switched the boiler stat to off and switched it back to medim heat, the burner fired up for about 3 mins and shut down, the LED flashes one /second. the LED went through each stage that you have listed. I have put my observation beside your original list on the right.

As my boiler has only one LED, it combines orange and green light into one. does it mean that my boiler is definitely in a constant lockout state?

what is the best solution to fix the lockout problem?

Im still confused
is hot water hot
are radiators hot when heating is on
are flow and return pipes from boiler to zone valve hot
