Might not work - maybe there are no plastered walls or maybe they aren't where outlets have to be.Seriously though, conduit doesn't float everybodys boat so why not compromise and only have your sockets and switches on walls that are plastered and leave some as bare brick/stone as features.
Saw a conservatory/hot house once (i.e. full of plants, not wicker furniture), and they'd done the wiring in surface mounted copper tube (prob 22mm plumbing stuff), left to go a naturally mottled green - looked great.Takes me back to a warehouse conversion I worked on, almost all bare brick, the conduit looked really good as we all really took the time to get it just right, wish I'd not lost the pictures, as it was proper sparky-p**n!
