Sorry if this is silly question but i have a suspended ceiling and it looks terrible. Is it against any h&s / fire regulations to replace the tiles and insert panels of (fire resistant) ply or similar?

If anyone has done this or has any idea it would be appreciated!

Thanks!

You need to ensure that the panels have a low surface-spread-of-flame characteristic.

Generally - for domestic situations - you would be looking at Class 1; a plywood panel, with a proprietory flame-retardant coating applied would achieve this.

you can get new tiles from £1.10 + VAT from online ceiling suppliers. The cost of plywood, cutting and painting is probably more.
