Hi,

I'm filling in the cellar in an old (200+ years) brick house. Should I put in a wooden suspended floor or a concrete bison type one? 2 walls are internal, 2 are 9 inch brick external at floor level.

Cheers, John

When you say Bison, do you mean precast slabs or beam and block, unless theres no roof or upper floors it would be impossible to get precast slabs in anyway. In any case timber would be the way to go as a floor with precast will require a more complicated method of support and tolerances involved in the construction would be tight whereas discrepancies in the existing building can easily be absorbed with a timber floor.
