Hello All

I plan to build a shed where the base will be 5x2 joists running from joist hangers attached to the outside wall of the house. The far side of those joists will sit on a wall plate on a dwarf wall which in turn sits on concrete footings.

What I am struggling with is how to finish that far side. If I just get on and lay some OSB or ply then I'll end up with big gaps inbetween the joists. On a roof the rafters would obvisouly run clear of the wall and then be capped with fasia and soffit. But what to do at ground level?

If I run each joist/"rafter" to be flush with the edge of the wallplate would it then be ugly to cap them with a length of 5x2 ? OR should I bring the joists out from the wall a bit or just leave them open for ventillation (and rats) ?

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Gap the joists so the osb centres on them, or add wood to achieve this.

Increase dwarf wall height then support joist ends on ledger.
Or masonry between joists then extend shed cladding down to cover joist ends
