Swansea

Read this morning that it started as a vigil for a local kid (no details given) and decended into burning cars and bricks through windows of houses, said the police and fire stood back until things cooled down. Seems senseless at the moment.

That's what previous and infinitely wiser generations would have done. Army called in, higher rank stands in front of rioters and literally reads the riot act from a piece of paper. Anyone still causing problems when he's finished gets shot.

Apparently, the police didn't turn up until nearly 4 hours later. Just let the rioters get on with it. And people still have blind, unquestioning faith in the authorities and 'powers that be'. Will they ever realise that it's not like the old days. The police, etc aren't here for us any more. But you can bet that if any of the car owners whose cars were trashed or homeowners whose properties were vandalised or families put at risk took any action themselves against the rioters - they would feel the full force of the law. The country is a joke.

You admire the Peterloo massacre, then. And Amritsar

No wonder you boast of living in a polics state.

You two either can't read or would rather make **** up that fits their own narrative than rely on trustworthy sites reporting on what actually happened.

If you think the police do a bad job, surely a major factor in that is successive governments cutting their numbers.

I don't suppose you happened to vote for those governments, did you?

Calm down, petal. Only a harmless joke. And who I did or didn't vote for is between me and the ballot box.

The numbers of police officers is only one small factor in the problems we face with policing and law and order.
