Swapping bath taps

What would be the best plan to do when swapping these bath taps with them being so close to the silicone?

There may be room to edge them forward slightly, failing that not much different than replacing them normally.
 
I'm not sure what the problem is. As long as your new taps don't have bases that are any larger then the old ones, they'll fit with no problems.
If the silicone gets disturbed, just put some new in its place.
