SWAPPING REGISTRATION FROM PREVIOUS EMPLOYER

Hi can any one comfirm the procedure when swapping from being registered with a company,.... to be registered in your own company name....
I realise there is a fee of £440 but not quite sure what happens after then
i.e as soon as you pay the fee can you work????

Belive me i am not of a ethnic background or have an eastern background all i ask is a bit of advice spoke to the women at corgi today but she wasn't much help ...dont think she knew......
