Hi all,

I am just trying to fit a nexus screwless flat plate socket and it’s driving me absolutely mad.

according to descriptions they require a 25mm back box. I managed to fit them ok on a tiled splashback but I’ve gained a good 8mm with tiles and grout.

So am I wasting my time completely trying to get these things in a 25mm back box ?
I don’t really fancy trying to swap them all to 35mm boxes
Any advice much appreciated

With that amount of cables , I doubt you will be able to fit to a 25 mm box.

I did something very, very similar yesterday.

3 cables, 25mm box and with no lee-way, screwless flatplate socket.

Doubted it would fit, but with careful arranging of each wire, avoiding wires crossing over behind the bulkiest part of the socket, I got there.

Check the terminals are tight just before screwing back the faceplate.

Too much buggering about can loosen the terminals.

A 10mm spacer is available to go between the wall and the socket.

Looks a bit naff, but may get you out of trouble.

Thanks mate, I am going to return them due to misleading information and hopefully have the profiled version instead.

if I only had a few to swap I’d try like you say, but I have 8 ‍♂️
