Hi,

We need to have a new liner fitted to our 30' x 15' external in-ground pool. So far we have had two quotes, at approx £2k and £4k. I have no idea why the great difference, who is reputable, or what liners are best, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations, comments, suggestions?

There doesn't seem to be a swimming pool forum anywhere, not that I can find anyway.

We're in the west midlands by the way, but most installers seem to cover the UK.

Rgds.

This is the one I use for info here

The price differ could be the gauge thickness or a better quality

Hi,

The forum there is, without wishing to be rude, rather moribund.

Both quotes we've had are for 30 thou liners, one from poolstore.co.uk which was around £800 for the liner and £800 ish for the complete fitting. The other was from another supplier who quoted £3600 all in. I'm at a loss to know why there's such a discrepancy.

I'd prefer to go local, but the local supplier won't even ring me back despite several messages. Such is life.

Rgds.

I always buy stuff from poolstore as I'm happy with their price, I don't understand why you're not having any luck with them, they always replied my email on the same day and not has any problem ringing them as well, ask to speak to Peter Joyce or email them at [email protected]

Poolstore are fine, they're the low quoters. The fitter is Bruce Welfare and he measures the liner, we order from poolstore and pay for it, and he fits it. It's the low price that's worrying me! Apparently the liners are supplied by Plastique in Hastings. I have no reason to doubt their quality. I suppose I should assume that their recommended fitter (Mr W) produces a good job.

It's the local shop that's slow to respond. I guess I'll go for the Poolstore offer. I also buy my chemicals and stuff from Poolstore, half the price of others.

Thanks for the response. Rgds.
