Switch above skirting

Just doing some general DIY, had the floorboards up and noticed a single 2.5mm T & E wire going into wall behind radiator.

I found that it leads to what looks like a lightswitch, nothing seems to happen when i operate the switch. I've since found another one in another room.

Does anyone have any idea what the switch could be for, as they make little sense to me

behind a radiator - could have been for a storage heater at some time.

is there a second fuse box next to the main one?

no crafty, theres no second fuse box and its unlikely that there were storage heaters given age of property.

Its a mystery to me what they're for, i'll have to trace the wires one day, probably go nowhere.
