Hi
i want to wire a light to a out room ive got a wire that leads from a plug to the light all i want to do is put an inline switch in the middle...i got a one way only switch..do i just cut the wire through and attach the red wires together at the top and the blue wires together at the bottom and the earths together????????? cheers sweat
 
Is this like a table lamp, or a standard lamp, or is it a ceiling lamp? Is it in the shed or in the house?

Think VERY CAREFULLY about what a switch actually has to do to turn the light on and off . . . at the simplest level (think back to circuits at school) . . . then reconsider what you said above. If you still dont understand you really shouldn't be messing with electrics
