wireless looks fantastic but as you say not cheap.
anyhow , good news. ive been speaking to a supplier of period style fittings and they are going to try and strip the lacquer of some of their switches , apparently i am not the only person who has been asking for bare brass. they also do Bakelite fittings , apparently they have to import these from australia because nobody makes bakelite anymore.
i should find out next week if they were able to successfully strip the lacquer or not.
they also sell the old type cloth covered cable (properly insulated underneath) so i will get a sample of this and see how i go from there.
