Dont even attempt the job :!: :!: :!:

This is a DIY site. If you were a DIYer you would have read up on the job and come to this site perhaps with one or two problems relating to it. Your post inspires me with zero confidence in your ability to do the job without having a disaster.

I ain't being nasty here just honest. Do whatever else it is that you are good at and get someone in to do this job for you

Ok thanks for the good advice .

I will get a pro . any idea how much it should cost

Sorry we can't be much help to you there either. It does say in the forum rules not to ask that one as there are too many variables.

£150 in fuel £20 van overheads aportioned for two days, guest house one night £45 (est) so that means I'm only charging £17.91 per hour for my travle time based on 6hrs each way, not including any money for the overnight stay.

Opportunity cost to me £35 per hour if I was in my home market place, so basically I wouldn't do it even for that price.

ive just bought £11'000 in van overheads not including the surance& Vat

Mine has cost me £2,200 this year on repairs so far depreciation probably about £4,000 because of side door with which I pulled down a wall, the back door which I drove into a putlog and nearly knocked a house down, or the nearside rear quater which I barged a skip with, not to mention the drystone wall damage to the other side. TPFT insurance of course.

It now looks like a heap, which is probably worth £500 and I'll still be paying £150 a month off for another 3 years.

I now realise that I should buy a new van every 3 years, but it's easy to be wise with hindsight, as one of my customers says you've got to **** with the cock you've got.

as one of my customers says you've got to p**s with the cock you've got.

sounds good to me marra has taken a while afore i earned the brass

you ever thought of going on the telly mate

S#d spending all that money on new vans . Buy ex BG one. Two year old less than 20k on clock already racked out an bulk head, regularly serviced and if you watch the adverts clean enough inside to drive about in shirt, tie and trousers.

I can talk about it but I want to cry really, life is such a hard slog, yet we get all these hopefull's on here thinking they are worth a fortune to us a labourers, imagining the profit we make from a combi swap goes into our personal bank account every day 365 days a year with no costs. Telly programs prtray plumbers and people giving examples of why they are worth the 100 grand a year they have awarded themselves like GP's and polititians quote they're not on as much money per call out as plumbers.

I've had a skinfull this year.

I think what happens with the van is I'm so distracted in my mind with all I've done and doing and am about to do, and the aprentice wittering in my ear about where we are going next and the slightly vacant mindset that sometimes besots an M.E. sufferer (only someone who'se had M.E. will know about this), and next thing you know, bang, I've had another incident with my bumber car.

Jesus Paul a skinful already an it`s only 3 days old only 362 to go.
