Hello, can anyone tell me what the secret tool is that is used to terminate the 6pin data cable connectors on a Systemline S4.3 multi room amp ? The manual states an SL IDC crimp tool ?

Any pointers appreciated.

Thanks for the link Sam, but sorry, the connector is not a rj45
It is 6pin and, i think made by Methode ?

I have a IDC punch down tool but it's not that

Thanks for your help.

When I did the Systemline training at Armour's HQ in Bishop's Stortford many years ago everything was connected by network cable using standard Cat cable plugs. Any decent RJ45 plug crimp tool will do the job. Scroll down this page http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page21.htm

I'd also invest in a network cable tester and a big bag of RJ45 plugs because they're fiddly little so-and-so's when you're a novice.

Hi Lucid, yes the newer version is RJ45 but the S4.3 is a 6pin plug which requires an SL IDC tool according to the MI.

I read what you wrote so I directed you to a similar IDC plug, which happens to have 8 "pin positions". They come with various "pin positions". The one you want might be a standard "6 position" type.

How about this?

I'm sure that you can use a search engine as well as I can and you know exactly what you are looking for.

Hi, thanks again, but nope the problem is i don't know what the tool required looks like  It's not a standard krone tool, unless I'm missing something ? What is the flat blade used for on side on the handle ?

DS
