Hi wonder if anyone out there can help me.

If a TRV is set at setting 2 and i turn my heating on should that rad that has the TRV @ 2 heat up.

The thermostat is set at 28 degrees and the rad still doesnt seem to heat up @ the 2 setting.

Depends on the ambient temperature.

2 is likely to be around the 18 - 19 degree mark.

Does the rad heat up when set to a higher number? If not then the valve maybe jammed.

The 28 degree setting will "make" the room/area where the stat is warm up to 28 before it turns off. This will have little direct effect on the rad with the TRV other than contribute to the house's overall ambient temperature.

Thx for the replys guys and yes it does work on a higher setting its a small rad in the bathroom.

The reason i set the stat at 28 was to see if this would make the rad kick in @ setting 2.

You need a new head for the valve then.
Why? The head seems to be doing its job OK.

The room stat is set to 28C but the TRV is set to 2 (say 18C) the room is not heating up to 28C because the TRV is controlling the room temperature at 18C. When the OP turns the TRV to a higher setting the room heats up to that temperature.
