Table Lamp bulb holder screw size.

I need to replace the bulb holder on an old standard lamp - the ones in the DIY stores seem to have a different screw fitting for screwing the holder into place on the old shaft. The new ones are bigger.

What are the old and new sizes ? Can you still get the old size ?

From memory, plastic lampholders have a larger threaded end than the brass ones.

If you use a brass one make sure it is earthed (you may have to replace the flex).

10mm, 13mm and 1/2 inch are the most common sizes

Cheers - 13mm is almost 1/2 inch so I persume the 10mm is the smaller size. Now I know what to ask for !!
