I need to rip down some lengths of battern for a project. I have a circular saw but not a table saw. but I do have a tile cutter saw. Has anyone ever used for wood. I guess there is a good reason why this can't be done, as I can find a wood disc which is 180x22,2

tile cutters work by abrasion
wood blades cut the wood
wood need a riving knife and blade guard
different beasts

You may well find the power of your tile cutting motor is much less than whats needed for cutting timber.

Tile cutters have insufficient power, no riving knife, no crown guard and an unsafe design of rip fence - so basically it's pretty pointless (not to mention unsafe) to try to use one as a table saw
