who here still tacks up board work with clout nails
i find screwing them are better just cant stand the swarf finger after

Never nailed a plasterboard in my life, filled plenty of 50p sized holes when someone else has though.

use collated, no black shards in you fingers either

or buy a tek gun

iv got a dewalt teck gun but its in essex lol
its a peace of **** you still selling your screw gun m8 think ill have off you

ill get it charged up bud, try it out though, if you dont get on with it i wont be offended. if im tacking all day i like to use a makita mains autofeed

I had a stack of nails left over from my loft conversaion in my old house, thought might as well use them and understand now why screws are better!

clouts are good foor 2 things only
1: tacking beads (staples are ****) sorry
2: fixing eml

THE END..........

each to their own matey, i just like whacking things

when i dab my reveals when doing gypsum work i make sure its a solid line of dab so i can clout some good 40mm galvo's in. I suppose i worry if someone knocks a bead, the whole thing would come off

dont get me wrong, i was tought to put beads on withmulti (full bed ) and use clout nails for putting board up, but the first time i see someone use staples i thought thats the way to go its the fastest way if your doing large areas, i use 10mm staples and the gun punches them in perfect , its also accurate i would feel a bit lost actually if i dident have the staple gun, i have even seen another spread hold the beads on with scrim, heres some of the beading up i done last month lots of beams and rsjs View media item 31912 View media item 31875 View media item 32211 it became a bit monotonous

i use the staple gun aswell but only on board work and only if its running true, i do alot of reskims and used to clout beads up but got fed up with them blowing out i find my self bedding beads on more and more now and find it really quick then its jst waiting for it to pull in a bit before i skim it, but i agree with both points of view i do sometimes think if someone hits it then thats it but on new board and arches staples are the quickest way of doin things spesh when your backs against the wall and you havent got time to be titting around doin it other ways, but as has been said each to thier own guys, steve hows the house comeing along mate?

just to add when your up on stilts all you need is the gun and snips in your hand rather than snips hammer and tacks lol

steve hows the house comeing along mate?
im getting fed up with it ive got the sparky comin in the mornin 460 hes chargin me for the kitchen work and ive just uncovered an electrical horror that he will have to put right electric leads running up from under my stairs through the corner of the next room up into the shower i removed some boxing in in the dining room to discover the cowboy wiring looks like more money ill have to spend unless i chop the wires into the wall but then it wont be in a safe zone and richard c will tell me off lol, no on a serious note m8 its proper doin my head in i like workin on other peoples houses but not mine, thanks for asking
