Hi

I'm looking for an opinion on whether I can fit Tado x thermostatic valves to all of my radiators including the towel rails in the bathrooms. I have a Viessmann Vitodens 100 W boiler.

My vision is of all of the rooms following their own schedules and the boiler responding in efficient manner, using open therm.

I am a bit confused as to whether I would need a wall thermostat. I would have assumed not because the radiators would already have thermostats?

Thanks for reading!

Drayton Wiser works that way, so no reason Tado should not do the same.

However, there are a few drawbacks.
(1) You don't want to measure temperature where the outside temperature can adversely affect the readings, so better if the TRV is next to an internal wall. If not it may fire boiler when not really required, the way around this is to link the TRV to a wall thermostat of sensor.
(2) There is a minium output for any boiler, I have never worked out what a boiler does if only one TRV is calling for heat.
