taking floor board up to thread plastic heating pipes

hi if installing plastic central heating pipes and the joists are running the right way i.e they don't need notching. is it ok to take one or two floor boards up either side of the run and thread the pipes through?

As long as the pipe is supported on the ceiling below, and it's not leading to strain on any joints, then I do exactly that tomsim.

I prefer drilling joists to notching though, keeps them out of they way of nails etc. I found my little Bosch 10.8v drill/driver will mange to drill the holes, it is small and with a short auger bit, fits between the joists nicely. for 15mm pipe no problem. I do need to go through with a smaller bit first for 22mm
