70 year old house.
We stripped back the anaglypta (wallpaper steamer) and lining paper; underneath was the remnants of the original white paint, in patches. Some came off with the heat from the steamer and plastic scraper, some didn't.
The bare wall beneath looks like solid, pale grey plaster, so presumably lime plaster?
We want to paint these walls so need the surface as smooth as possible.
Should we just attempt to sand the patches off? Steamer plus metal scraper? Hot air gun? (where do you hire those from??)
